Natural Ways To Quit Smoking Cigarettes

Here are the ways that can help you butt out! If you are one of the growing number of health-conscious people who want to quit smoking but find the effort a drag, below are some of expert ways that may help you over the hump.

1. Smoke up a storm several days before you make the break. Smoke so many cigarettes that when the day comes to quit, you can’t stand the thought of puffing an other fag.

2. Try to quit with a friend or, better still, a group of people you see often. Rest assured, you’ll benefit from their support in the early stages of your withdrawal.

3. In the first few days, avoid booze and coffee like the plague. They are the kissing kin to cigarettes. If you must drink, hold your glass with two hands to take your mind off the fact that you’re not holding a cigarette.

4. Keep your life busy! When the urge to smoke becomes too strong to resist, get up and move around, dash up a flight of stairs, walk around the block or take a shower.

5. When you get really uptight take a few deep breaths. It will relax you and give positive reinforcement because, almost immediately, you’ll find your lung capacity has improved dramatically.

6. Keep a lot of treats on hand. Sugarless gum is best, but if you must have sugar, suckers, hard candy or jelly beans will help you through the withdrawal stage.

I hope all these natural ways on how to stop smoking cigarettes here may be useful for anyone who try to quit it.

An effective and easy way to quit smoking might seem too good to be true. Well, no way of quitting is a piece of cake. There are plans and techniques that you can follow that will make it less of a mountain to struggle over, though.

The first thing you have to do is to identify the reasons why you smoke. Learn to recognize the triggers. Do you smoke when you are angry? When you are nervous? Is there any particular food that you associate cigarettes with? Do you have friends who smoke? Once you identify your triggers, you will know what to avoid and this is the first step in the easy way to quit smoking.

The second thing you need to do is find somebody who will quit with you. Misery does love company. You will have cravings, and what you need the most is somebody who is going through the same experience. You can know that the other person understands what you are going through, and you will have the responsibility of helping your friend through the experience, as well. This is a very useful psychological tool in the easy way to quit smoking. Being part of a support group also helps big way.

Many people prefer to stop smoking without any aids, but using aids is a relatively easy way to stop smoking. You can get nicotine patches or nasal sprays over the counter, or see you doctor and ask him to prescribe you the non-nicotine pill, which is reported to have some success rate.

Hypnosis is another popular and easy way to quit smoking. This is called hypnotherapy. The therapist will make sure that your mind and body are completely relaxed, which is when you are the most receptive to ideas and suggestions, and make repeated suggestions that will help you quit. This does not involve controlling you in any way and is safe. You can even find hypnosis CDs.

Tell your friends and family. There is nothing like support and encouragement from your loved ones to help you quit. Choose people you are close to, who will not judge or criticize you. You need to have somebody to talk to every time the craving strikes.

Have an exercise regime. Quitting can cause weight gain, and exercise will strengthen your mind and body. Go for walks either with your quitting buddy or with other people you are very close to.

Most of all, remember to set realistic short term goals to work towards, and reward yourself when you reach each stop. Each individual is different. The easy way to quit smoking for you is to find which combination works best for you, and to remember to never give up.

There are many smokers who have quite the habit by going cold turkey. Most will tell you that they did so without much in the way of preparation. Usually going the cold turkey route is something that is not thought out or pre-meditated, it just happens. Usually the smoker goes cold turkey in response to an event like a close friend or loved one dying of lung cancer, or perhaps they lost someone in a house fire that was caused by careless cigarette smoking.

To quit smoking this way, usually involves a drastic and very emotional motivator. The event usually is something that shows the smoker in a very dramatic way that smoking has caused a lot of grief or harm to someone and smoking becomes so distasteful that quitting becomes the only option. The smoker simply stops and the motivator is so vivid in their mind that every time the urge to smoke occurs the motivator zaps the urge and the person remains smoke-free.

There are times when the motivator to quit cold turkey is a pregnancy announcement and mom decides that the baby’s health is more important then the pleasure received from lighting up yet another smoke. Sometimes the motivator is the health of another person that is living in the same household as the smoker.

Whatever the reason, the timing is usually in a way that prevents the smoker from putting much thought or planning into the act of quitting. To succeed the smoker either needs to be able to stay focused on the motivator or to have a constant reminder of the motivation to quit. A pregnant mom can tape the ultrasound picture on her refrigerator or bedroom mirror as a reminder of the life growing inside of her that needs her to quit smoking. A father of an asthmatic son may need to hear his son wheezing and watch him reach for his inhaler to serve as a reminder that he needs to make his home smoke free.

Having gone cold turkey without a plan does not mean that you need to continue without one. You can devise a plan and can enlist the help of family and friends anytime. Speak with your healthcare provider about your decision to quit smoking and ask for advice and support groups.

After you have quit the smoking habit, you can still let others know of your decision and surround yourself with non-judgmental supportive individuals. Negative people will only drag you down and make you feel like you cannot succeed. Surrounding yourself with positive energy allows the positive energy to flow through you and gives it the ability to bring about positive changes in your life.

Whether you are going cold turkey or have designed a plan to quit you are likely to run across feelings of irritability, being tired, cravings at every turn and the need to put something in your mouth.

Here are some tips to help you survive:

-Understand that being irritable tired or out of sorts is to be expected.

-Make sure you drink lots of water all day and evening.

-Do something physical like going for a swim or walk to keep your mind active and off your cravings.

-Surround yourself with support – people who can help you to resist the temptation to smoke.

The headaches will disappear if the smoker lights up a cigarette. After some time without the nicotine in their system, smokers tend to become very irritable. This condition can be a personality change for some people, and they run the risk of annoying others at home and at the office.

Eventually these smokers find their normal emotional stability, but this feeling of being angry causes some to return to their harmful habit. Smokers trying to quit become quite restless, and the attempt to quit smoking has an effect that makes their life miserable. They cannot accomplish their tasks at work, which can impact an entire organization. Smokers trying to quit might also experience feelings of depression and sadness. The thought that a cigarette could make them feel better tempts many people to give up their goal of kicking the habit.

Ultimately Positive Effects Outweigh Negative

Unfortunately, many smokers determined to quit the habit give up because, as they quit smoking, the negative effects are serious. They know that the positive effects start soon after they quit, but they just cannot do it. If they have the discipline, the positive effects will be fantastic. Smokers will have better vital signs such as lower blood pressure and reduced heart rate almost immediately. There has been research that shows their lungs will be in better shape one week after they quit smoking. The lungs will continue to improve unless the smoker already had a serious disease before they quit.

Those who quit smoking feel effects that are positive in all of their activities. They will have more energy and stamina to do their favorite activities. Smokers who quit will see improvement in their teeth and skin. If someone quits smoking, one effect that is positive is the improvement of taste. The quitters will taste all of the flavors of their food. Smokers will save money as a pack of cigarettes can cost up to four dollars. This can add up to more than a thousand dollars a year and what vacation might that buy?

Once a person develops the habit of smoking, it’s often very difficult to quit. Here are 10 Ways to Quit Smoking that I believe will help you focus your attention on a more healthy ‘life after cigarettes’.

One of the best pieces of advice I can offer is that you try to identify what causes you to want a cigarette in the first place. Take notes on your habits for a few days. The more aware you are of your other habits, the easier it will be to pinpoint your smoking ‘trigger’ (what tips the scale and makes you think you need a cigarette).

Some of these ways of smoking will be easy; others will require your constant focus and attention. I wish you the best of luck and sincerely hope one of these methods helps you banish your smoking habit forever.

1. Make a commitment (a promise) to yourself that you are going to quit. Don’t make the promise complicated; just plan to quit and keep your promise to yourself.

2. Write down all of the reasons you would like to quit on a piece of paper; keep it handy. Don’t forget that it’s an expensive, health threatening and mostly socially unacceptable pastime. On the flip side of the paper write out all of the benefits you’ll experience once you quit -such as easier breathing, clean smelling clothing and hair, and the relief your family will feel once you quit. Just the exercise of writing these reasons to quit and the expected benefits should make you feel empowered to quit.

3. Clean up your environment and rearrange your furniture at home and at home. As you already know, we are creatures of habit. If you are accustomed to sitting in your favorite chair at night to watch TV, and you leave an ashtray out, it could trigger a craving. Remove all potential cigarette reminders and all tobacco products from your home and office.

4. Sign up for regular exercise classes. When you start to get into shape, a very magical thing happens to the way you treat your body. Often times just beginning a regular exercise regimen will cause you to watch what you eat, get more sleep, and take better care of yourself overall. Consider taking small walks throughout the day, if you used to use smoking as your break time activity.

5. Make a conscious effort to avoid people and places that enable you to smoke easily. Nobody should subject themselves to needless temptation. These people and places should be relatively easy to identify.

6. If you are a nervous eater, plan the healthy snacks you will consume before you embark on your cigarette quitting journey. Many people smoke with the excuse that they believe it keeps them thin. If you are suddenly afraid you will over eat, you may be tempted to light up instead. I live in a dry climate and was used to drinking water, so water really helped me to quit.

7. Don’t sabotage your success by talking yourself into a cigarette. Sometimes when we are trying to make a major change in our habits, we can easily slip into the habit of justifying why we should break our new routine. Don’t tell yourself you need a cigarette because you had a really rough day. Take a walk instead. Call a friend. Do anything but break your new routine.

8. Let everyone know you are quitting. It will bolster your determination to meet your goal of stopping smoking. It’s quite possible your friends and family will be a source of support as you avoid temptation.

9. Be sure to set milestones for yourself and treat yourself. At one week, schedule a lunch out with a friend or family member and announce your success. At one month, plan a special event. Gents you could play a round of golf at your favorite course and ladies you could treat yourself to some spa time. Whatever you decide to do, congratulate yourself and keep treating yourself as you achieve each new milestone.

10. Quitting smoking is a mental game above all. Be sure you read literature about empowering yourself to make this change. You can surf the internet for free information, or you can purchase a self help program that will help you quit in a structured way.

The preferred quit smoking book online. If you smoke, or someone you care about still smokes, then this may be the most important letter you will ever read, because . . .

In less than 3 hours you can learn how to quit smoking – for life – from the comfort of your home – without patches, pills and gums, and, without gaining any weight or suffering a single major craving – fully guaranteed by one of the most trusted entrepreneurs on the internet (and a former 39-year smoker who quit by using this very program)!

In this quit smoking book, you will not have to spend hundreds of dollars buying medicines or supplements that will not help you quit smoking, neither will you need to put on patches, chew gums, swallow pills, use an inhaler, or ingest any other foreign substance. You will not have to follow any new and special diet, although we recommend the intervals at which you eat throughout the day and tell you one substance to avoid at all costs (we also want you to drink plenty of water). You will not have to start an extensive exercise program . . .

In fact, after you have read/listened to our program, about 3 hours, you just carry on with your normal routine only having to set aside a half hour or so per day for 3 weeks (or less) to listen to a special recording we made. Piece of cake!

And more…

Testimonial:

“I needed something to convince myself that after 35 years I could finally quit my 4-to-5-pack-a-day smoking habit. Yes, I chain smoked from morning until night and even woke up in the middle of each night to light up. I tried Zyban and the patch. What a joke! Ten minutes into The Quit Smoking Right Now Program I KNEW I was going to be able to quit. I remain tobacco-free over a year later. This program was a miracle in my life and my wife considers it even more than that!

I’m also saving over $250.00 a week that I spent on this killer habit! I highly recommend The Quit Smoking Right Now Program to anyone who wants to quit smoking once and for all!”

1. Believe you can quit. Studies have shown that belief that you can quit is the most important trait in successful quitters.

2. You must be motivated. Ask yourself on a scale of 1 – 10 (Ten being the most) how motivated you are? If you are not at least a 7, you are not ready. If you are not quite ready, write a list of the reasons you want to quit, and put it on a bulletin board. Also, write down all the health risks involved with from smoking (Smoking-related diseases claim an estimated 430,700 American lives each year, cigarette smoke contains over 4,800 chemicals, 69 of which are known to cause cancer, about 8.6 million people in the U.S. have at least one serious illness caused by smoking.) Source: American Lung Association

3. Create a Plan. Choose an date and write it down on your calendar. It is helpful if the date you choose is a special day, like a birthday or anniversary. Make an appointment with a local Certified Hypnotist. Each day before your Quit Date, write in your calendar (__ days till I quit smoking), mentally prepare yourself that you will be quitting on that day. Like many thousands before you, choose a safe and natural method to quit smoking. Hypnosis is the most effective method according to MedScape Medical News. Plan to have water, gum, and healthy foods to offset your smoking triggers. Find a support group, friend, or a quit buddy who you can share your experience with.

4. Work with a local Certified Hypnotist on the day of your Quit Date. Show up for your appointment. Throw away all your cigarettes, ashtrays, any other related paraphernalia. Listen to your Hypnosis CD at least once day for a few weeks. Hypnosis will help you with your triggers, and give you tools to help you reinforce your decision to quit.

5. Make a list of all your triggers. I smoked when I felt, bored, stressed, with coffee, after a meal, in my car etc.. Make a second list of all the activities you will do instead of smoking. Healthy dis-tractors like reading a book, going for a walk, working in your garden, taking a deep breath, chewing gum, lifting weights, riding a bike, listening to music, drinking water.

6. Use Daily Affirmation and place in on your fridge, mirror, or at your desk. Say them to yourself 10 times each morning, afternoon, and evening. I am Happy, Healthy, and smoke-free, Everyday I choose to breathe fresh air into my lungs. Today I am a proud and healthy non-smoker.

7. Tell a Spouse, Friend, or co-worker that will hold you accountable If you are held accountable by someone else it may help you to quit. Signing a contract, may make it more official. Find a support group locally or online.

8. Daily Exercise. If you do not currently have an exercise regiment, start off by walking 10 minutes each day. This will help you release any daily stress.

9. In the beginning, reward your self each day with with a healthy and safe reward. Some inexpensive reward ideas are flowers, a book, and an apple.

10. Don’t give up! This is one of the best decisions you have made in your life. 1000′s of people do it everyday, you are no different. Write a list of the reasons you quit, and the benefits you enjoy from being a non-smoker, and keep them with you at all times in your wallet or purse.

When you think of quitting cold turkey style do you think its going to be hard? Well actually it’s not as bad as you think. Most smoker who quit smoking the cold turkey way have a better chance of quitting for good. There’s no easy way to quit and there is no other way to quit. Smoking less doesn’t mean you’ve quit smoking and that’s why other methods or quitting doesn’t really work.

To really quit smoking cold turkey you will have to give it up all together and if means not hanging out with your friends on a Saturday night at the club then don’t The worse thing you can do is quit for a month then go out to a club see everyone smoking and get tempted to go back. Once you go back it gets harder and harder to stop. Each time you quit then go back, quitting the next time around isn’t the same because you know that its there and you can always go back to it.

However lucky for you there are many methods you can quit smoking cold turkey. The first cold turkey method is to quit and just eat or munch on things when you feel the need. And you can also pick up a new hobby like painting or figure painting to kill time and stop you from thinking of smoking.

The next quit smoking cold turkey way is self hypnosis which is by listening to recordings that help to reprogram you mind while you sleep. It’s a very popular method right now and it works really well. The cold turkey way is a lot better if you also have a hobby on the side.

The next cold turkey way is the nicotine patches which you use while you sleep and while at work or out. This cold turkey method is highly effective especially when your body starts craving for nicotine.

For optimal results you should combine all these quit smoking cold turkey methods together and you’ll notice the real difference when quitting. Last but not least another popular quit smoking method is to see therapy or a quit smoking support group. Speaking with other smoking addicts who are quitting just like you can help you feel that you’re not alone. You can also speak with people who’ve already quit and are there for your moral support.

Support groups will benefit you in the long term because if you’re thinking of smoking again in about 6 months visit your quit smoking support group and they’ll be able to advise you. So quit smoking the cold turkey way is the most effective method and you can try doing it today or tomorrow it’s really up to you.

Many smokers have a deep desire to quit but they consistently fail because of the dreaded nicotine withdrawal symptoms. Once these symptoms become unbearable, the smoker trying to quit will reach for their cigarettes and once this happens, they may well end up at square one. There are numerous quit smoking products available that all make huge claims to help a smoker quit but few have the ability to relieve the nicotine withdrawal symptoms. The Nicocure quit smoking patch claims that it is successful because it removes or greatly reduces nicotine withdrawal symptoms. Before deciding on Nicocure as a possible quit smoking product, you need to understand what nicotine is, what withdrawal symptoms a smoker can expect when quitting, why a smoker gets cravings, and how Nicocure fights these cravings. It is the intention of this article to discuss these topics and determine if Nicocure can live up to its claims.

Nicotine is the substance responsible for fooling your brain into releasing a pleasure chemical called Dopamine and nicotine receptors on your nerve endings receive the Dopamine and create happy nerve cells. Nicotine is a powerful and addictive stimulant and because nicotine stimulates Dopamine production, the nicotine high, in a sense, is a natural high. Nicotine is one of the most addictive substances on Earth and nicotine addiction is both physical and psychological. Nicotine addiction is the main reason for people continuing smoking while understanding it’s harmful and you will have a much better chance of quitting if you can eliminate or relieve the withdrawal symptoms.

Because nicotine is so addictive, removing your normal source can lead to nicotine withdrawal symptoms and while a small percentage of the population does not have these symptoms, for the majority, this is the reason why they fail to quit. If you have quit caffeine in the past, you know that withdrawal symptoms from any sort of drug are not very pleasant and if you are addicted to nicotine, then the cravings can be extreme. Many quit smoking products work by using nicotine replacement therapy which basically means that the product will supply nicotine to a smokers body from an alternate source. While this will help to eliminate the cravings associated with nicotine withdrawal, nicotine is what you need to eliminate from your body to truly stop the cravings. Because of this fact, nicotine replacement therapy products are self defeating. It all comes down to the fact that to quit smoking you eventually have to get off the nicotine and if you decide to go cold turkey, the cravings will start to diminish within 10 days. Unfortunately, many smokers cant make it through these 10 days of withdrawal without lighting up again. The Nicocure quit smoking patch claims that it will solve this problem.

While Nicocure does not state that it will instantly remove all of your cravings, it does claim that it has properties that will greatly diminish the nicotine withdrawal cravings which will greatly enhance your chances of quitting. Nicocure is based upon one primary ingredient, which is lobelia inflate and Nicocure claims that it works in a completely scientific manner by feeding the nicotine receptor cells in your body with the same sensation provided by nicotine by replicating the properties which effectively fools your body into thinking you are getting nicotine. While you are not actually getting any nicotine, your body thinks you are and this supposedly helps to eliminate or reduce the cravings for nicotine. Nicocure claims that most people feel the cravings for nicotine completely disappear within the first 10 days while wearing the patch and as each day passes, they notice fewer cravings for cigarettes. Nicocure also claims that another advantage of its main ingredient is its ability to make tobacco products taste unpleasant, which also helps to reduce cravings for cigarettes. Nicocure also says that while wearing its patch, the herbal ingredients go directly into the blood stream which provides continuous all day relief from the withdrawal symptoms and allows the body to start healing after smoking. Nicocure states that other than the typical withdrawal symptoms that accompany nicotine withdrawal, you will not experience any side effects if you smoke or use chewing tobacco while taking Nicocure unless you continue to smoke while wearing there patch. Nicocure also suggests that eating fresh citrus and drinking lots of clear water will combat cigarette cravings. Nicocure claims to have been effective with over 97% of those who try it, but like other herbal remedies, it is not recommended for women how are pregnant or nursing babies. Nicocure also states that it contains no sugar and will not react with insulin in any way and contains no drugs except for the natural herbal remedies that it advertises.

Smoking is responsible for disorders in all parts of the body, including the digestive system, respiratory system, and can even cause emotional problems. All smokers recognize the reasons why they should quit and most have a strong desire to do so if they could find a product or aid that would make it happen. Nicocure states that you will crave fewer cigarettes every day and the withdrawal symptoms will be milder due to the natural nicotine substitute, which helps you shake the nicotine habit gradually and that their formula is completely herbal and all-natural. While most quit smoking products will make claims that they are the only product that works, doing a search on the internet about Nicocure will show that there are some positive reviews stating that people have experienced success while using this product.
